Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday falling on the Third Monday of every January. The day, also celebrating King's birthday, honors his legacy and shines a light on civil rights.

The King is known for his peaceful contribution against racial discrimination which came into reflection on national news in 1955, which started as a boycott protesting against the law of blacks and whites to sit separately on the buses.The King struggle has not been ended here, he was imprisoned and physically tortured , later resulted by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional law in 1956.

His famous Speech ''I have a Dream'' that he addressed to the quarter million people during the peaceful march on Washington D.C, made him the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The warrior continued fighting for civil rights and poverty until he was assassinated with a bullet, and a dream that got buried on April 4, 1968.
